Passable Indian

 I have struggled with Indian food. We are huge fans of a local Indian food buffet, and no matter what I do, I can't come close. But I have made something that I like finally. The secret ingredient that I was always missing was something I love the flavor of, but no recipe I own mentions. It's tomato onion masala or in some places I've seen it just called tomato onion gravy. It's assumed you already know about it in most recipes, so they don't even mention it.

R and I used to love to eat at Nam's Red Door in San Pedro. We miss the spring rolls so much I attempted to make them. They were tasty, they were edible, but I believe it will take many more attempts.

Reminders for my t(w)eens

- never whine. You are lucky, your life is a good one. Be thankful. 

- work comes before play. Do you chores, earn your time for playing.

-  your body is a tool you will need for your whole life. Treat it well.

- Have courage. Go the distance. Believe in yourself. 

- you have a sense of humor. Use it as often as possible. 

- If someone tells you "no", say "ok" unless it's something important, then battle, and never give up or surrender

- stay open minded, keep learning. No one knows everything.
