My Mom's Got a Place

My mom was a on waiting list for a senior apartment downtown and we had heard that the wait would take from about 6 months to a year. Well, surprisingly, they are going to let her move in October 1st, which is more like 2 months wait. We had heard from various people that it's a great place. For only $520/month, she has various perks included, like cable, a dedicated guest room for overnight guests, and a building coordinator who puts together functions and get togethers and helps senior citizens find local services they might need.

We have already gone on a tour, and my mom likes the place. They have a bus stop right out front, and the location is very close to shops, library, and a college for senior citizens that has learning courses, and get togethers. And the best part is, she does not have to endure a winter with the Hendricksons -- our downstairs bathroom is normally frigidly cold from Dec-March.

Emy made a painting. When you look at it in normal light, it looks like a beautiful lady. When you look at it through the sunlight, it looks like a lady that is wearing too much makeup and has tanned herself too darkly. She calls it "the tanning lady".
