Today was also the first time I was able to look at a drawing from Kat and know exactly what it was. It was the baby Mackensie in her baby papasan chair. The likeness was uncanny.

New Invention # 2
Emy has gotten in the habit of taking just a little bit of clay with her on the schoolbus to give herself something to do while she's waiting to come home. She has been making creatures for her friends that I have been dutifully baking for her. Today's was this black and white guy that I must have gone a little too happy over since she decided from my reaction to go make a family of them. I am rather sad that they will all be gone back to school tomorrow from whence they might never return. I think they would make cute bracelet charms, or earrings.

Feast Fit for a Squinkie
Em is using her Sculpty clay, the kind that gets hard when you bake it (a Xmas present from Auntie Carrianne - thanks) to make the Squinkies food and furniture. Which Randy and I think is pretty cool considering we are sure we never made anything like that with clay when we were 8. I think I may have attempted snowmen, or maybe snakes. I am not sure if I like the carrot cake the best, or the pie, or the plate with the pizza. Somewhere currently lost in the playroom universe is a gold platter with a baked fish (not shown).

Treehouse Interior Inspiration #2
This is a photo of the inside of someone's playhouse. Someone's freakin' PLAYHOUSE. The only thing I hate about it is the TV. Is that a sectional bench?

I Love Cheat Sheets
I like when people sum things up in simple bite sizes. Especially really complex things. Like if I were to say the secret to a long happy marriage is for both people to have a great sense of humor, that pretty much says it all and cuts right to heart of the matter. Well, this article puts together lots of things I have been working on mentally for the last decade or so. And it puts it into step form. And thanks to it, I know what my next step in life is. And that's just a cool thing to find unexpectedly.

Easy Baking
I taught myself how to ride a bicycle at 30 while pregnant (with Randy's help), I went sledding for real for the first time in my own backyard our first winter here (we've owned the house now 4 years), and a few days ago, I finally got to bake (or at least help bake) in an Easy Bake oven. I have realized that I am not "reliving" my childhood as a mom; I'm rewriting it.
