A co-worker friend of Randy's, Warren, donated used siding to the treehouse project. It's exactly the kind of siding we were hoping for.

Xmas Gift Suggestions

Emelina really likes pretty things, like some of the glittery ephemera they sell at Pier one in the gifts section; she likes putting together outfits for school (size 7/8, shoe 13), and often prefers plaid, flannel, fleece, heavy stockings, and skirts (though nothing that you have to pull over your head because that makes her hair stand up from static cling). Her most played with toy of all right now is a big mama stuffed Kangeroo that has a pouch, so she can hide treasure inside. She has always liked the notion of having and hiding treasures. She likes toys, but not ones requiring batteries because they just usually sit around dead -- the ones that go the distance are the ones that are visually appealing, small, and part of a set or family. Emy can read now, and she enjoys chapter books along the lines of Diary of a Wimpy Kid which have illustrations. She also really likes looking at anime or manga portrayals of fighting women, like this one I have selected at random from google images (SHE DID NOT DRAW THIS, even though it looks like something she could draw):

Things she needs -- art supplies -- fine line sharpies, and paper, always paper.

Kat Kat likes Iron Man, babies and baby animals. Oh, and Kat Kat LOVES to dress up like a princess (current size 3T, shoe toddler 7).

Treehouse Update - Roofing

The really nice roofing material from the earlier post turned out to be too heavy, so Randy decided to use some regular shingles instead. And thankfully, he wore a safety harness.
