I actually have no idea how Larry makes his chicken and broccoli but my kids and my husband love it, so I thought I might try to make it. Another motivator is that Larry's version has Cream of Mushroom soup in it, and Emy can't eat that, so I had to make a lactose free version for her.
3 chicken breasts, cut up
1 pkg Wegmans cut up and washed Bella mushrooms
2 crowns of broccoli, cut up
1 medium onion, chopped
1-2 cups Swanson Natural Chicken Stock
1/4 block of Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar, shredded
1/2 cup parmasan cheese
1 tsp cumin
2 tsps curry powder
1 tsp Goya Adobo
1/4 tsp majoram
1/2 cup lactose free milk
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 pkg of cooked noodles (Barilla White Fiber Rotini)
Brown chicken in a bit of olive oil. Add spices . Add veggies, and saute until tender. Add stock, bring to boil, and continue to boil until broccoli is less green. Lower heat, add milk, parmasan cheese, cheddar, and lemon juice, and simmer until noodles are ready. Add noodles, and stir. Turn of heat, and cover for 5 minutes. Stir, noodles will soak up the sauce, when the noodles have soaked up enough sauce, it's ready to serve.

Letter to Santa
The girls have written their letter to Santa. I don't know why I always start Christmas shopping before I ask them to write the letter, but invariably it's just something I just always do. Anyway, just in case any of you are wondering what the girls are into nowadays...
Em is REALLY into Chemistry; not sure why. Not into the actual science of Chemistry, but definitely in the idea of making potions. She used a gift card once to buy herself a chemistry set, used up all the citric acid and powders it came with in one day just making the potions. The most awesome thing she learned how to do was make a goop that looked like the inside of a lava lamp, she was thrilled. But most of the chemistry sets out there come with only enough stuff in them for one day's worth of play.
She has also really gotten interested in reading lately. She wasn't really into it before. It's been since she discovered Graphic Novels for kids such as Bone, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Coraline -- these books are HEAVY on the graphics, and the words are basically there to help the pictures tell the story. Sort of like comic books.
Her favorite shows on Netflix are "Secret of the Kells", a very illustrative animation about illuminated manuscripts, and "Adventures of Jackie Chan"an animated show about martial arts and mystical beasts and villains.
Kat asked Santa for very very many things. Her current likes are numerous. She likes babies, fairies, mini Lalaloopsy's, Squinkies, Disney Princesses, and at school she is currently learning her letters and numbers -- to write them, identify them, and to know what words are associated with them. Her favorite shows on Netflix are "Meet the Fairies" and "Adventures in Lalaloopsy Land" and when I say favorites, I mean, she watches nothing else.

Lost the Camera
Sorry the latest posts have been without pics. The camera is missing. It's SO missing that I think it's gone forever. There simply are no other places to look for it. Ugh.

Totoro Playdate #1 of 3
When I was a kid, I had two friends I would meet up with at lunch and we would act out our version of Star Wars. I was R2D2, of course. So when I heard that some of my kids friends were acting out the movie Totoro, I felt nostalgic and I invited all the girls over to watch the movie. They are currently in the middle of watching the movie as I write this and I have to say that I HIGHLY recommend parents encourage children to act out movies while watching them. It's entertaining. For instance, one girl just said, "So when everyone jumps on me next time, I should just pick you up, and then everyone can just fall on my legs." They are getting alot of exercise and not at all sitting around like zombies. It's very interactive, and I am impressed. Maybe I should re-phrase and say I HIGHLY recommend this only for well mannered calm sort of children.

Quick Good Homemade Chicken Soup
When my mother visited with us, she would make chicken soup, and now that she's gone, the kids want her chicken soup back. So...I've had to improvise something. Here's what I came up with. Ingredients from Wegmans.
1 pkg Perdue Ground Chicken
1/3 pkg of Hakubaku Organic Ramen Noodles (1 bundle, crack noodles into one inch pieces)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 organic carrot, sliced
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tsp olive oil
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp goya adobo seasoning
1/2 tsp marjaoram
2 cups of Swanson Natural Goodness Chicken Broth
6 cups of water
Brown the chicken in olive oil, add the vegetables and spices. When onions and celery are tender, add the stock, water, and noodles. Boil for 20 minutes. Soup is already good. Cover and simmer for an hour, and it's better. Let cool, refrigerate it, and the next day, it's awesome.
