4 mile walk

Today I spontaneously decided to take a 4 mile walk through my neighborhood. Not something I would have done ordinarily because I am wary of loose dogs and bears. But in a way I am very glad I did it because it was a very beautiful day, I really wasn't all that tired other than my legs being sore, and now I know for sure that there really aren't any loose dogs and bears so close to my house. At least not today.

Rochester Roll

We went to Rochester to see Carrianne. Carrianne's friend Larry treated us all to sushi and then we went on to the Museum of Play with very full tummies. By mistake, we just happened to pick the weekend they had a special Star Wars day at the Museum, and boy was it packed. But we got to see some really neat costumes and robots, so it worked out.

Fairy Princess Tea Party

I forsee many of these parties, so as a treehouse warming present, I got the girls another tea party set. I believe this will be something like their fifth set - the others all broke since they are so played with; the only ones left are too old and fragile and possibly laced with lead. The new set I got was the most popular one on Amazon, so I hope that it goes the distance. I even got these cool Haba Petit Fours cake things that I think are going to knock their socks off  (link).

WSKG Writers Contest UPDATE

In June, they will award Emy "Amazing Effort-Artistic". We will put up pictures of the art when we get it back, we weren't able to make copies prior to mailing in the submission.  Randy would like me to add here that this is a completely new prize category they made just for her.

First Cello Concert

Emy's first cello concert will be held at her school on Thursday May 10th at 6:30PM.  It will less than an hour long. All family members and friends are invited.

Plasmacar Pro

Dude! Every now and then I check to see what is going on with these Plasmacar people aka "Wiggle Cars", and today I found this article that talks about the Plasmacar Pro, the new version that comes with better wheels for a smoother ride. They also have an upgrade kit for the cars we already have. I say again -- dude! They either came out, or are coming out this upcoming Feb 2013 in NY at the American Toy Fair.   source

Still haven't heard any news on the WSKG Writer's Contest that Emy submitted her story to. By this time last year we knew that she was a winner. Ergh...it's only 3PM. Maybe they need until 5? Maybe they have more important things to do today?
