The Tooth Fairy Trials

Being the tooth fairy is NOT easy. Randy and I are seriously fumbling it up. The first tooth was completely inaccessible under her pillow; it took several tries to get it. Then tooth # 2, I totally remembered that we have a "Tooth Fairy Pillow", but I totally forgot all about it until morning, so I told Randy to do it since I was completely too tired to wake up early. He got the money in the pillow and forgot to retrieve the tooth. So now Emy's got the money and the tooth, and she keeps writing letters trying to get the Tooth Fairy her tooth back. She's starting to wonder why the Tooth Fairy is not getting all the notes and letters. And why does she want Emy to keep her tooth? It's all very mysterious.

New Hiking Place

Emy's class had a field trip this last week, on a hiking trail behind the school's playground. Randy went with the class, and now we have a new place to hike that we don't have to drive to.

Tooth Fairy's A Comin'

Emy pulled her tooth out this morning before school. She wanted to take it with her to school to show her teacher, but I thought her teacher probably has seen her share of bloody extracted teeth, so I reminded Emy to put it under her pillow.

Somehow when I was writing my previous post, I neglected to mention that CJ Arnesen, the guy who took the photo that inspired the painting, bought the original painting from the artist Nancy Near, framed it, and sent it to us as a present.

Can you even imagine what it's like to open a gift like that unexpectedly? Nearly fell out my chair.

Something New that I Want

Randy and I have determined that we need a nice dock at the back of our pond...see how happy the kid in this stock photo looks...I want that.

Emy's Art Selected for Exhibit

Emelina recieved a special note from her art teacher and delivered personally by her school principal -- they have chosen her artwork for a district-wide Art Exhibit at the mall. We went to see it this weekend. I think Emy felt it was about time she was the center of attention.
