Legend of Korra

We are very big fans of the Nickelodeon Avatar series, and we have waited very patiently for the new "Legend of Korra" series to come out on Blu-Ray which it finally has. It's only 12 episodes long, wish it was longer, and I am not certain how we are going to find the patience to wait for more episodes to come out since we don't have cable, and we'll have to wait again until Book 2 becomes available probably next summer (hopefully that soon).

Here's a review that I believe sums it up nicely -- Scott Thill of Wired hailed The Legend of Korra as "the smartest cartoon on TV," able to address adults' spiritual and sociopolitical concerns while presenting an "alternately riveting and hilarious ride packed with fantasy naturalism, steampunk grandeur, kinetic conflicts, sci-fi weaponry and self-aware comedy."  (source)

There's another Playland

One of my favorite places to go as a kid was Rye Playland. Didn't know there was another Playland. It's at Sylvan Beach, near Syracuse. I went to go play Skeeball. There were rides and a beach there too.

Wizardry

Someone wants to be a wizard and I assured her that she already is one.

More About the Vanagon

We searched far and wide, from Philadelphia, to Boston, to Syracuse, and almost to Indiana, to get one of these campers. We want to take road trips as a family without having to worry about where to bunk for the night while also not having to pay tons of money in gas; this camper will let us do that.

There's a bunk up top big enough for both kids (modelled by Randy), we've ordered the tent for it

Storage space underneath the passenger bench.

Which folds out into full size bed (modelled here by Vanna, I mean, Randy)

And there are tables that swivel out to eat, draw, etc.

Here's other images from the Internet of other Vanagons:

there's a mosquito net for the back, we've ordered one
