Breakfast in Boston

She had chocolate chip pancakes for the first time. After her first bite, she wanted to get right up and congratulate the chef on a job well done.

Casino in Bethlehem, PA

I might be a casino snob. I couldn't believe my eyes that there was an actual casino that looked like a casino in Pennsylvania. I thought that real casinos only existed in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. So I took a picture. This place is huge. Also, Bethlehem, PA seems to be a bit of a Puerto-Rican mecca too. It reminded me of Portland, but there were Puerto Ricans all around smiling. Might have to re-visit that town.

Last Day Pre-K

She almost missed her last day due to pink eye, but her teacher said she could come in at least for the diploma ceremony. We put her in sunglasses and gloves to reduce chances of infection.

She called this little boy her boyfriend. His mom said he called many girls in class his girlfriends.

Goodbye Tony

A family friend named Tony passed away of a heart attack a day shy of his 89th birthday, on Tuesday, June 11. Last time I saw him he was celebrating his 50th or 60th anniversary with his wife Rosie (I was young, and I forget exact numbers), but he told an audience of people that what kept them together for all those years was "lots of hoochie koochie". Not surprisingly I remember the man as a person who was always smiling.
