Nurse Emy

Kat Kat is a bit under the weather today, so Emy decided to make her "comfy" with the help of every cushion she could find. She made her a snack of dried fruits, and now she's playing her cello for her.

It Snowed Today

We went out on the sled some, but I forgot to get pics of that.

Suggestion Boxing

I very much like solving peoples' problems, even when they don't know they have them. It makes me feel useful. So, I like suggestion boxes, and I like leaving comments on articles I read.

I wrote to the NY State Education Department just to say that it would be nice if there was a blog or site where people could talk about their favorite NY teachers from the past, and how those teachers affected their lives for the better, and a way for people to kind of still reach out to teachers who really do make a difference, other than becoming Facebook friends with them. They "rejected my proposal" even though it was only just a suggestion, and no way a proposal whatsoever.

I wrote to the wiggle car people and told them they should have ones for adults, and they turned me down. Said there was no market for them. They are so totally wrong about that.

People usually turn me down, or tell me I am crazy in their fancy nice ways. I don't really care, I keep trying.

It does work sometimes though. Once, I wrote to the principal of my kid's school, and told him that he needed to create a better manual for the school, one that spoke of basic things like attendance rules and such. I even sent him a copy of a format that I liked from a different school that I found online. He wrote back and thanked me, and did exactly what I told him to do. Which was kind of frightening, really.

And recently, I wrote to my local AAA magazine and told them they needed a major overhaul to their magazine. I suggested nicely that it was nothing more than a travel advertisement for the Bahamas. I told them they needed to talk about local spots to DRIVE to, considering they are the freaking Auto Club. Lo and behold a few magazines later, they changed the magazine entirely. But, of course, there's no way of knowing that it had anything to do with what I said.

So, just to see if it would work, I wrote back and made more suggestions. And I got a response! She said I had good ideas, and before they put out their next issue, she's going to contact me for input. Hehehe. I don't think she's kidding. We'll see.

Santa Rappels

Today we went downtown to watch Santa rappel from a building. His beard got stuck so...he stayed at the halfway mark for about 5 minutes until someone could rescue him. Emy is already kind of on the fence suspicious about Santa, but luckily, I think she was not entirely convinced that wasn't someone just pretending to be Santa up there. It was about 40 degrees, and we kind of forgot how chilly 40 degrees feels when you are not standing in the sun. So, once that Santa guy touched the ground, we left.

White Interior for the Treehouse?

Saw this picture online, WHITE PLAYHOUSE INTERIOR!!!, got me thinking...hmmm...that looks pretty cool.

But then again, I am terrible at painting. And how will it stay white if it's outside? Agh, but it makes a nice picture though.
