Emy's Party was a Blast.

When asked what her favorite part of the party was, Em said it was the part with the pinata, and the egg hunt, and the trampoline.

Egg Hunt in full swing. Martian #1 in hiding behind the bushes to the right. Can't see her? Click on picture for larger view.

Martian #2 firing water rocket at three unsuspecting Earthlings.
What's inside these things anyway.

What, no candy! But we're hungry.

Artful Weekend

This weekend, we were meant to have a birthday party, but three Internet Weather Sites predicted thunderstorms. As it turns out, the weather for the entire weekend was gorgeous, except for the very two hours the party was scheduled for. Not sure if Em cares one way or another when her party is, so long as one happens eventually.

Frog Hunting

She caught a big one, but Mommy wasn't quick enough with the camera to catch it.

Human Body

Em is fascinated by the human body's insides. She loves videos about developing fetuses, and pictures of skeletons, organs, etc. Today at show and tell she took in a human body model her auntie Rita bought for her (thanks), which shocked the hell out of the little boys who talk about blood and guts and splatter everyday and have no idea what it all looks like.

She once told one of those same little boys that there was a baby in her Mommy's belly, and he gave me a look of such horror and righteousness that I knew he thought I should have found something more suitable to snack on. He still doesn't look me in the eye anymore.

Pre-K Graduation Today

On Father's Day, Obama talked about how we tend to over-celebrate small successes in life, like going all out for a child's 8th grade graduation. He said something to the effect of...why get so ecstatic that a child has completed 8th grade when you still have high school, college, and medical/law school graduations ahead of you; people are supposed to graduate from 8th grade, it's not that big a deal...".

That being said, Emy had her Pre-K graduation today and was given a paper hat and write-in diploma at a "ceremony" (picnic) in Stewart Park.

Waiting is Over

New Playground Finally Open for Business.

Weirdest Slide I have ever seen. It has no side rails, and I am suspicious that children will not be damaged.

Playing Around with Online Paint Website

Probably going to end up with something way different, but so far I like all these possible exterior paint colors.

Option A - Combines my favorite colors Blue and Brown.

Option B - Screams "Ithacan" and is totally inspired by other Ithaca area homes. Also inspired by Mexican "hacienda tiles" which is the actual name of this shade of orange paint.

Option C - I call it Japanese Roasted Green Tea.

P.S. This is not a picture of our house - it is a template on a paint website to help people figure out what colors they like.

How to Make a Balloon in 3 Easy Steps

First you take the balloon like zis..
Then while you watch it grow, you'll remember that you don't know how to tie it closed...
So it will whoosh and belch in your face...
Which is apparently the funniest thing ever...
