Emy has enthusiastically decided to enter the Reading Rainbow Writers and Illustrators Contest which requires that she write and illustrate her own book. Within 15-30 minutes of making her decision, it was done. It's a book about an apple tree and a boy who wants to eat the apples, and eats them all before his family members can stand in his way due to their own various self-centered reasons - one sibling wants the apples for his own, one sibling thinks the apples are not ripe enough yet, the little one agrees with big sister (just to be a little BLEEP), the mom worries about his appetite for dinner and the father, well...the father eats a white crayon and is not too concerned over the whole apple business at all since he has to be rushed to the hospital and cut open by a doctor. That's the story, the whole nut, no nutshell. I, of course, think it's brilliant. A boy with a plan, and the world be damned. The only kink -- the author has selected the title "John Henry" for the book; which I believe needs a bit of revising.

Emy wants a Curious George party, a PINK cake, and a "pin-ya-na". I like an idea of banana sundae buffet, just have no idea how to do it. Also, in one of CG's TV episodes, he sets up a homemade mini golf game. Maybe I could try to make one too.
I think a pirate party might be an OK idea.

Kids can make these and race them. Now I've got to find someone who likes to eat walnuts.
There will be a treasure hunt that plays like an egg hunt, a pirate ship battle with water balloons acting as cannons, a cave setup with a treasure box inside for digging in and finding treasure inside, and other things that I have yet to come up with that will hopefully involve water to combat the heat.
The food and drinks will be Carribbean in nature. Pina Coladas, fruit salad, and Kabobs. Yummy.
Emy sledding the big slope.

Never had been sledding in my life, so Randy and his Dad thought it would be fun to take me out at night and push me down the bunny slope in the backyard. It is my hope that the neighbors did not call the cops from the racket I made screaming for my life. My daughter of course had no problem on the steeper slope that darts narrowly between two trees. In my defense there was no moon or stars tonight to speak of, so I could barely see my feet. My daughter being smaller probably saw her feet just fine, or didn't care to.
